Ana-Maria Barosan

I started my PhD at the Conscious Brain Lab in September 2024, supervised by Simon van Gaal and Timo Stein. During my PhD, we aim to investigate the neural mechanisms through which arousal influences perceptual decision-making, focusing on how arousal modulates our ability to perceive and make decisions based on sensory information. To achieve this, we will use neuroimaging techniques, including fMRI and EEG, alongside pharmacological studies. Our first project will incorporate fMRI, psychophysics, and pupillometry to explore these effects.

Before my PhD, I completed a BSc in Psychology, followed by a Research Master’s (MSc) in Psychology, specializing in Brain & Cognition, at the University of Amsterdam.
